Objectives

main objectives: primary: students will need to know the etiology of-skeletal malocclusions they should know the basic elements for differential diagnosis of malocclusion of I, II and III skeletal class they must have elements to design a proper treatment plan main: At the end of course the student will be able to schedule an orthodontic treatment, whether it be an adult patient whether is a growing patient. He will learn therapeutic aids used in fixed and mobile dento-skeletal malocclusions of I, II and III class.

Treatment and planning of orthodontic case
The orthodontic biomechanics.
The biological basis of orthodontic therapy.
Removable and fixed appliances
Principles of preventive therapy, interceptive and corrective.
The orthopedic therapy
The functional orthopedic therapy
Fixed orthodontic treatment.
Diagnostic and therapeutic solutions of the problems sagittal first, second and third class.
Diagnostic and therapeutic solutions of cross
Diagnostic and therapeutic solutions of vertical problems
splint and retainer
Diagnosis and treatment of dental anomalies
Orthodontics in adults
A multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and therapy.
Relationships between other branches of dentistry and orthodontics in particular with:
gnathology,
dental traumatology,
prosthesis
implantology,
periodontics.
