Development of methodological awareness; advanced knowledge of German literature and the methodologies of the discipline.
The course consists of the analysis of: a) the works of Georg Büchner and in particular of his play The Death of Danton; b) the process of reception of his work in the context of the German literature of the 19th and 20th centuries; c) the reasons for the continuing relevance of Büchner in German history and society (Büchner-Preis-Reden), an analysis which will allow thinking to be extended to cover strategies of socio-cultural and socio-political communication and constitutive elements of criticism of modernism in Büchner's work.
