Criminal Law and Commercial Law
The course seeks to foster specialized knowledge regarding criminal issues in the business environment, focused especially on crime in this context. The coursework focuses on fundamental methodological skills , necessary for providing legal advice, questions relating to criminal liability of businesses or companies, administrative offences and corporate liability for crimes , types of offences and other aspects of white collar crime.
Criminal issues and fundamental constitutional principles in the field of business, the culpability and corporate liability under D. Lgs. 8 June 2001 n. 231; compliance programs and liability for crimes in the corporations and complex organizations. The criminal analysis includes the necessary references to jurisprudence and EU law. The course examines the corporate criminal law (including fraudulent financial statements and private corruption), the protection of the financial market (market abuse), and bankruptcy crimes.

Case study as well as meetings with judges regarding criminal issues and topics.
Mode of delivery: Lectures and tutorials or seminars. The course is flexible to accommodate students in other programs, such as Erasmus. In order to foster the connection between theory and practice, course material includes research and study of the leading cases.
