Students must acquire the knowledge on the main reared species and breeds of ruminants and characteristics of main products (milk and meat) obtained with them. Students must able to formulate a ration for animals, also taking into account the economic aspects, learn husbandry techniques of the different categories of animals, particularly young animals, as well as reproductive techniques and control systems of the reproductive activity of ruminants. Finally they must acquire the basic knowledge necessary for ruminants raised on pasture.
