The course is aimed to train students on specific aspects of the environmental chemical analysis. After a brief description of the main ecosystem compartments of interest for an environmental chemist and their regulatory framework, the sampling, preservation and analytical methods used for water, sediments, soils and airborne are extensively discussed. In addition, also the systems for the automatic evaluation of the air quality have been shown. Finally, the key concepts of the validation of an analytical method and the discussion of a number of case studies of environmental concern are treated in this course..
