ROMANCE PHILOLOGY
The oral exam consists of questions of 3 kinds:
- test of translation of a text taken from the course;
- test on metrical, linguistical competence;
- test on the literary and historical context.
Knowledge of the origins of the romance languages (Portuguese, Spanish, Catalan, Occitan, Franco-
Provencal, French, Sardinian, Italian, Rumanian) when they separate from Latin, and of the first texts composed.
Introduction to Romance Philology. Transition vulgar Latin - romance languages:
linguistics, historical and cultural aspects. The oldest Romance texts.
The critical edition. Translation and linguistic analysis of the texts.
