Objectives

The goal of this module is to give the student a basic knowledge of poisoning and toxic substances that affect pets and farm animals, prophylactic measures and the main treatment in case of poisoning.

Contents

Introduction: general concepts and terminology. Toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics. Toxic doses, therapy and antidotism. Teratogenesis and carcinogenesis. Inorganic and organic compounds poisoning. Pesticides. Toxic plants and mycotoxins. Animal toxins. Environmental and food toxicology. Toxic residues
