GERMAN LITERATURE
Oral.
Development of methodological awareness; advanced knowledge of German literature and the methodologies of the discipline.
The course aims to outline the image of Italy, and also of Sardinia, as portrayed in works by German authors from the 1700's to the 1900's. The central thread is that of the relations between the north and south of Europe and the different socio-historical horizons of reference, which, when examined in greater detail, outline more general antitheses, personified, for example, by the archetypes of Prometheus and Epimetheus, and Cain and Abel. However, when dealing with the Italian reality, the authors display the ability to identify a tertium non datur between the principles of pleasure/obligation, and reality/possibility, anticipating ethical and aesthetic problems of contemporary social life with great foresight.
