HISTORY OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

The course will be organized in lectures and seminars regarding themes on which the students will present a report; there will be also an empirical activity regarding some selected sources. The aim is to improve the student’s ability to critical analysis and his talent for historical research.
The first part of the course will be centred on the analysis of public administrations from the origins of Modern State and on the juridical culture which followed their development. A particular attention will be reserved to the Italian case in the contemporary age.
The following two parts of the course will be directed respectively to the exam, through an individual work of research of each student, of single themes which have been examined in the first part; and to a research work on selected sources.

The course will be organized firstly in lectures; further teaching aids and activities will be provided through the e-learning platform. On this first part a written exam will occurr. In the second part of the course each student will prepare a report on specific subjects which will be discussed in the class. Finally the students will face with the management of sources which they will put in order and catalogue.
CPA's students can choose between the second and the third part of the course.
The status of attending student will be recognized to who will attend at least the 80% of the lessons.
