SOCIOLOGY OF THE FAMILY
Oral + Written Assignment
Students completing the course will be able to:
- Explain the main analytical and interpretative categories upon the family of the sociology.
- Analyze the main changes related to the family.
- Argue on Italian and other European countries’ family policies.
The course is divided into three parts:
1. Structural, social and cultural aspects of contemporary family in the main sociological study approaches.
2. Analysis of some specific phenomena related to the familily: migrations, reconciliation between family time and work time, marriage fragility, "new families";
3. Social policies and services for the family in Italy and in other European countries.
