Microbiology , General Pathology and Epidemiology knowledge are preparatory to the exam of the course , particularly with regard to the etiological characteristics of microorganisms, mechanisms of virulence, immunity and anatomo pathological as well as the main methods used in the diagnosis of infectious diseases
The aim of the module is to provide the student with knowledge and skills on infectious diseases affecting domestic animals with particular reference to the pathologies affecting the animal and equine species. At the end of the course the student will acquire: - the main knowledge of infectious diseases most commonly found in equidae and animals of the affection - the ability to perform a clinical and laboratory diagnosis of the pathologies treated in the course - the ability to apply health and immunization prophylaxis methods to prevent or control pathologies - the ability to implement eradication plans.
The lectures will focus on the major infectious diseases in domestic animals by species animal . Regard aspects symptom , anatomical and pathological lesions , the course and prognosis , diagnosis, clinical , anatomo pathological lesions, laboratory and prophylaxis direct and indirect , with special emphasis on clinical and differential diagnostic. They will also be given hints therapeutic and animal health
Students will have access to Self.studenti UNISS platform to all the presentations on the topics covered in the lessons . Auxiliary teaching aids , in the form of films and slides , will be used mainly to highlight the symptoms and course of diseases , otherwise difficult to see during the course.
