The teaching of the course aims to provide students with the tools and basic knowledge for the construction, interpretation and use of numerical maps, remotely sensed and aerial images and spatial analysis in a Geographical Information System .
Elements of Geodesy, reference surfaces, the orientation of ellipsoid , geographical coordinates.
Representation of the ellipsoid, geodetic networks framework.
Plane and cylindrical map projection, deformation analysis, cartographic and cadastral reference systems.
Scale of representation, symbology for the general purpouse and thematic cartography.
Techniques of satellite positioning systems, SLR, VLBI, GNSS, tools and methods of measurement, satellite networks and their compensation.
Digital mapping, raster and vector characteristics of the structure, digital photography, acquisition, processing and georeferencing of numerical data.
