At the end of Infectious and Tropical Diseases course the student will have to be trained on diseases caused by biological agents, in particular on viral, bacterial and parasitic etiology, with particular regard to their pathogenic mechanisms, to the respective diagnostic procedures both in the laboratory and in the image and the main therapeutic schemes to be applied. The student should be able to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding and clinical reasoning applied to the scientific aspects of each individual infectious disease. Finally, the student must show judgment autonomy and communication skills with patients and colleagues. After Hematology couse, the student should be familiar with the most relevant issues concerning the pathophysiology of hemopoiesis, anemias and hemostasis as well as with the basic concepts in the field of onco-hematology and stem cell transplantation. He should also be able to cope with all the most important laboratory procedures involved in the diagnosis of onco-hematologic disorders.
