The student should be able to recognize the clinical, laboratory and hysto-pathological features of the most frequent thoracic surgical diseases. He/She should be able to make the correct diagnosis and suggest the most appropriate surgical treatment. In particular, at the end of the course, the student must be able to: Know the correct use of invasive and non-invasive diagnostic techniques necessary to establish a correct diagnosis and evaluation of the patient that allows to decide the most appropriate surgical treatment. Know the main types of surgery procedures in the diseases described above and the problems related to specific surgical treatments.
